Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors usually needing different levels of security.

Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is vitally important; this is contingent on how your door and handle are used. For instance, exterior doors require a more secure cylinder while internal doors can be secured with the standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders have extra features that increase security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump features.

A euro cylinder needs to be properly measured to ensure that it is the right size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the central fixing screw hole to the end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. If you cannot measure using the lock in its position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks such as snapping locks, therefore it is essential that it's not too long.
